A copyright owner can make certain corrections of their copyrighted materials registered with IPOC such as errors on a certificate of registration. Other corrections that can be made includes adding omitted entries, removing certain entries and correction or defects in the Register and adding files that affect copyright.



Please note that The Copyright Office cannot change addresses in the Register of Copyrights.

What can be changed in registered copyright?

As a copyright owner, you can only correct clerical errors made by the applicant or the Copyright office.

Can I change the Copyright material of another owner?

Usually, it is not possible unless you have obtained a court order. The Federal Court of Canada may on request by the Registrar of Copyrights or any interested person can order a correction of the Register.
